Two comments:
(1) Other things being equal, I would prefer having those workshops within the US border. As many students are from China, Russia, middle east etc., applying for a Canadian visa can be very annoying, and leaving the US territory can be intimidating.
(2) I am naively wondering if there is any trend of studying the computational modeling of phonological "performance". I mean, computational syntax/semantics has been addressing the issues like incremental comprehension, anticipation, lexical frequency, structural frequency etc. I wonder if there is any parallel research on the sound side. I am aware there are abundant studies on phonological learning though.
